Cotton is the material we use the most. Growing cotton requires a lot of water and chemicals. That is why, in June 2018, we became partners of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).The Better Cotton Initiative was founded to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in, and better for the sector’s future. By choosing our cotton products, you’re supporting our investment in the Better Cotton Initiative’s mission. Better Cotton is purchased through a mass balance system. Therefore, Better Cotton isn’t necessarily in this item, but the BCI farmers benefit from the demand for Better Cotton to the same extent as we buy it through Better Cotton. Cotton is the material we use of the most. Growing cotton requires a lot of water and chemicals. By using recycled cotton, we extend the lifespan of a fiber that has already been made. The energy consumption for producing recycled cotton is almost 20% less than for producing conventional cotton. To maintain product quality, (for now) no more than 20% recycled cotton can be used.
