Exchanges & Returns

We can only dream of all our products meeting your expectations, but unfortunately that isn’t always possible. Sometimes an item might not fit well, other times it might look slightly different in real life, or maybe you’re a bit strapped for cash. Exchanging and returning is all part of the shopping experience. We respect your decision and hope to make (have made) you happy with another item.

Of course we have made the exchange & return process as easy as possible for you. Below you will find the terms and various possibilities per country explained.

Returns - Netherlands

  • Fill in the returns form and send it together with the returnable items in the original shipment bag or another sturdy packaging. If you have misplaced the returns form, please contact the customer service or download the returns form. Please use the returnlabel that is added in your package to return at a DHL ServicePoint
  • We will charge a contribution of €1.95 for a return shipment if you return the entire or partial order. We will calculate these return costs in the refund of the order amount; you will receive the amount of the returned items minus return costs. (€ 1.95). When you return the entire order, you will also get the shipping costs of the one way refunded; so you receive the total order amount including the delivery costs to you minus the return costs (€1.95).
  • Returning via the store is free.
  • You can return the goods to the America Today web shop via DHL. You can use any DHL Service Point (check out DHL website for a DHL Service Point near you). There are no additional costs for this; these costs have already been included in the €1.95 return costs that we deduct in the reimbursement. When you return the package in a different way (not via DHL), the costs for this alternative return shipment will be entirely for you, of course we will then not deduct the previously mentioned €1.95. Keep your shipping form in a safe place, this is your proof of shipment!
  • You can return goods via the web shop, but you cannot exchange them. You can of course place a new order if you wish to receive another item. Products you ordered via our web shop, you can absolutely exchange and/or return at one of the America Today stores.

Returns - Belgium

  • Fill in the returns form and send it together with the returnable items in the original shipment bag or another sturdy packaging. If you have misplaced the returns form, please contact the customer service or download the returns form.
  • Stick the address label supplied with your order on the packaging.
  • We will charge a contribution of €1.95 for a return shipment if you return the entire or partial order. We will calculate these return costs in the refund of the order amount; you will receive the amount of the returned items minus return costs. (€ 1.95). When you return the entire order, you will also get the shipping costs of the one way refunded; so you receive the total order amount including the delivery costs to you minus the return costs (€1.95).
  • Returning via the store is free.
  • You can return the goods to the America Today webshop via Bpost. You can use any Bpost location (check out Bpost website for a Bpost location near you). There are no additional costs for this; these costs have already been included in the €1.95 return costs that we deduct in the reimbursement. When you return the package in a different way (not via Bpost), the costs for this alternative return shipment will be entirely for you, of course we will then not deduct the previously mentioned €1.95. Keep your shipping form in a safe place, this is your proof of shipment!
  • You can return goods via the web shop, but you cannot exchange them. You can of course place a new order if you wish to receive another item. Products you ordered via our web shop, you can absolutely exchange and/or return at one of the America Today stores.

Returns - Germany

  • Kindly fill out the return form and send it back to us together with the items you are returning, in their original packaging or using different, but appropriate packaging. If you have misplaced the returns form, please contact the customer service or download the returns form.
  • Stick the address label supplied with your order on the packaging.
  • You can send the items back to the America Today online store free of charge with DHL. This free returns service must be processed in a DHL ServicePoint(check DHL website to find a DHL ServicePoint near you).Make sure you keep the shipment receipt as proof that you have returned the items!
  • If you return the package using a different carrier (not via DHL), you must pay the cost of the return shipment yourself.
  • America Today will refund the purchase price you paid for the returned items within 14 days of receipt of the goods, or receipt of the notice of cancellation, and will use the same method of payment as used for the purchase.

Terms Exchanges & Returns

  • You will have the right to reject any or more items (right of withdrawal), without giving any reason and within 30 days after you received all items from your order. Within this period you may view, evaluate and/or try on the item, as you would in a store.
  • If you would like to cancel a purchase, you should inform America Today within 30 days after the day of receipt of the entire order. It is our preference that you use the attached returns form and that you return this together with the unwanted items to us within 30 days after receipt the entire order.
  • You can also inform America Today to cancel the purchase (for example via mail or email) in another way within 30 days of receiving the entire order. You can use the model withdrawal form, but this is not mandatory. You should return the unwanted goods to America Today within 14 days after you cancelled the purchase. Preferably, include the completed returns form so we can process your return as quickly as possible.

You can return goods via the web shop, but you cannot exchange them. You can of course place a new order if you wish to receive another item. Products you ordered via our web shop, you can absolutely exchange and/or return at one of the America Today stores.

Which items can I exchange & return?

You can only exchange & return an item if:

  • the item is complete, and
  • as far as reasonably possible, in the original condition with the price tag attached and original packaging.

For any decrease in value because you have used the item in one or another way than you would have done in a store, we may hold you accountable.

Exchanging & Returning at an America Today store for € 0.00 (only in Netherlands and Belgium!)

Products purchased via the web shop can be exchanged or returned free of charge at any America Today store within 30 days of receiving all items from your order. In this case, bring along the completed returns form and drop the package off at the store. Check out the store locator for a store near you.

If you exchange or return in an America Today store, America Today will not charge you the € 1.95 contribution for return costs. After exchanging or returning of the entire order, the paid delivery costs will also be reimbursed.

If you return any items via an America Today store that you ordered via the America Today web shop, the purchase amount will be paid out in cash. This also applies to sale or special offer items. You may also choose other items for this amount. For safety purposes, our stores have minimal cash. We therefore advise you to return larger orders via the web shop. Don’t forget to take your returns form, since this is your proof of purchase. The store cannot return your products to the web shop without the returns form.

Damaged or incorrectly delivered product

It bothers us very much when you have received a damaged or incorrectly delivered product from us. When we have accidentally sent you an incorrect or damaged item, please let us know this as soon as possible and indicate on the returns form the reason/nature of the complaint so that we can handle the complaint as good as possible. You can also contact the customer service. We will try to process the complaint within fourteen days of your notification.

If you have returned the item and the complaint is valid, America Today will not charge the € 1.95 return cost contribution. You will then receive the correct or undamaged item from us, depending on the specified reason/nature of the complaint. You will not be charged again for the delivery costs. If the item is no longer available, you will be reimbursed for your paid purchase amount. If in doing so the entire order is returned, the paid delivery costs will also be reimbursed.

Legal guarantee

When purchasing items from the America Today web shop, the legal guarantee will apply. Legal guarantee includes that the item should meet the reasonable expectations the consumer might have. There is no legal period connected to this guarantee as consumer expectations may vary per item.

Price decrease / promotions after purchase

We regularly have special offers whereby the sales price can vary from one day to another. If you have purchased an item which is made available for a lower price within 48 hours, we will pay you back the difference in price. In the above case, you can contact our customer service via service@america-today.com. If you purchased it longer than 48 hours ago, and the item is unworn and has the price tag, you can return your order and order the item again.

General Complaints

If you have a complaint regarding our products or services, you can email to: service@america-today.com or call the following telephone number: 020 - 5602601. Any complaint will be handled within a period of 7 days after the date of receipt.

If for any reason you are not fully satisfied with the way we handled your complaint, you are entitled to bring your case before the Dutch Appeals Board for Distance Selling (Geschillencommissie Thuiswinkel) PO Box 90600, 2509 LP The Hague, Netherlands (www.sgc.nl). Your complaint may also be brought before the Appeals Board via the European ODR (Online Dispute Resolution) Platform (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/).
