Laundry tips so can enjoy your favorite items even longer!
We all have a couple of outfits that we just want to keep wearing forever, right? We hear you! In this blog, we're going to give you 3 tips on how you can enjoy your favorite items even longer! Next to that, with our tips, you’re also helping the environment by saving a lot of energy and water. Sounds cool right?
Don’t wash too often
Let’s start with the most obvious and easy tip, you shouldn’t be washing your clothes too often. Alright, we’re not saying you shouldn’t wash your outfit after a night out in the club that’s a must, but a lot of people wash their clothes way too often. It is no secret that washing clothing isn’t exactly that good for your clothes, but next to that, it also costs a lot of energy and water. So, if you're clothing just needs to be freshened up a bit, let it hang outside for a while. The next day, the smells will be gone, and your clothing is fresh and clean again!
Let nature do its thing
We know that using the tumble dryer is so easy and fully integrated into our day-to-day system but, during the spring and summer season (and even dry fall/winter days) you can easily let your wash dry outside. Nature got its own tumble dryer, and it is completely free so better take advantage of that! Besides that, drying your clothes outside is even better for your clothing. Do you need any more motivation?
Wash at 30 degrees
We all saw our favorite hoodie shrink a size in the washing machine.. Chances are you're washing at a higher temperature than needed. Dropping the temperature from your washing machine to 30 degrees has a lot of benefits. First of all, you're saving a lot of energy and water. If you previously washed at 60 degrees, you’re even saving half the energy by washing at 30 degrees. Secondly, washing at a lower temperature slows down the process of fading of colors and shrinking of fabrics. Turning the heat of your washing machine down to 30 degrees is an easy tip to save energy, money and make sure that you can enjoy your favorite items even longer!
